Just north of St. Armand’s, Lido Key has shores on the Gulf of Mexico, Sarasota Bay and New Pass. Bridges link it to the Sarasota mainland as well as Longboat Key. Lido Key was originally purchased by John Ringling, who planned to build it into a major tourist attraction. Years after his death, Lido Key has attained the world-class status he envisioned, complete with elegant shops, award-winning restaurants and multi-star hotels.

With an average year-round temperature of 75 degrees, Lido Key is ideal for the outdoor and sports enthusiast. You can charter a boat (with or without a captain) to explore the area’s many bays and backwaters. You can also try your hand at deep sea fishing, scuba diving or snorkeling.

North Lido Beach is a pristine half-mile expanse of sand interspersed with towering Australian pines. It is Lido Key’s most secluded stretch, perfect for a lover’s tryst or relaxing nature walk. If you prefer being around people, you can make new friends at the beach scene mid-key, where you’ll find a swimming pool, playground, concession stand, shops, and lifeguards on duty year-round.
